Trigger Warning.

Whenever rape scenes show up in tv or movies it horrifies me. I usually watch through it unless theres alot of violence because I do want to see the show and the context. But its really emotionally and spiritually hard for me. I mean I just will never be desensitized, nor do I ever want to be.

I don’t want to be touched or have sex ever after either. I don’t know how people so many people can watch it over and over again with all the shows that demonstrate rape constantly.

I just can’t do it.

How do you all feel about it?

Trigger Warning

When somebody says, “I don’t think women should be raped for wearing short skirts, but what do they expect when they do go out like that?” what you are actually saying is that if a woman in a short skirt is raped, you will be less likely to hold her rapist culpable. Which makes a woman in a short skirt really appealing to a rapist. That’s something that you did. That’s not something the woman in the short skirt did, or something the rapist did. You made that woman a more comfortable target by making it clear that if she got raped, you would be less upset about it, less willing to see the rapist go to jail, less willing to support the woman.

Strength is Sexy.: You can probably tell by my latest posts that this has been on my mind. Well, this is it and then I'm done with this...

strengthissexy:

For those of you who think my clothes, my skirt and heels, are an invitation to rape me…

For those of you who think, “Alright, no one deserves to be raped but seriously shouldn’t you cover up a bit? Does your skirt have to be that short anyway?”…

For those of you who have asked me what I…

I don’t need to say a fucking word. She said it all.

Jamie Leigh Jones Loses Rape Case

miniar:

stfuhypocrisy:

goodreasonnews:

Nearly five years after she was allegedly drugged and raped in Iraq by firefighters for Halliburton subsidiary Kellogg Brown & Root, Jamie Leigh Jones has lost her case.

Now 26, Jones said she was drugged with the date rape drug Rohypnol and brutally raped in 2005, while working at KBR facility Camp Hope in Iraq. She also told jurors that after the incident, she was imprisoned in a shipping container and prevented from calling family for help, and later had to go through reconstructive surgery on her chest and psychiatric counseling for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.

But jurors in the case against the Houston, Texas-based company decided in the end that Jones’s sexual encounter was consentual, rendering other charges moot.

“We do think it’s a shame that Jamie’s entire personal history was dragged before the jury,” attorney Todd Kelly told the Chronicle, “when her rapist’s criminal history, including violence against women, was suppressed from them.”

Americans can’t win.

This woman needed reconstructive surgery after she was raped….I mean, after her consensual sex.

I feel sick.

Right, this goes on my list of 5000 reasons I’m glad I’m not an American… -.-

Did you see the company name?
"Halliburton"

Why am I not suprised?

When a woman who claims to have been raped asks for a female detective

whatsajuthika:

nothisdate:

cheatsheet:

That’s taken as a sign of possible deception. “I am betting nine out of 10 times, when a woman asks for a female detective the story is going to be untrue,” says Lamboy. The operative theory is that women who are lying think female cops will be more receptive to their stories.

This is troubling, especially considering there is no explanation of why this is the operative theory.

ALRIGHT. SOMEBODY NEEDS TO GET PUNCHED IN THE FACE.

what the fucking fuck

Did you ever bother to think, that they are a little scared of being around men - since they were just fucking raped? Or how many cops recently, just ask them what they were wearing? And other stupid victim blaming questions. Instead of of hey, it’ll be okay, what happened? Did you ever think of that?
